Champion for Healthcare for All
When my father went through cancer treatment it literally bankrupt my family. This is an unfortunately American story. We know that the system we have created is inequitable and historically marginalized communities have worse outcomes, including, for example, in maternal mortality rates.
When I am in office, I will be a champion for healthcare for all. As a recent article noted, “...health care, including its patient-safety component, is too big and too complex to be steered only by medical professionals.” The legislature has been dominated by special interests from the inside - fighting to protect their turf instead of fighting for patients. I am not inside that system.
I don’t have a vested interest in the outcome other than that all Oregon families have affordable, quality, equitable care.
